Day Forty-Seven – “Powder Paint” (In For A Penny / Dreamers)

He’s back home with his sister, and it’s Holi – little puffs and flecks of colour rise up above the crowd, lingering in the air like someone has dragged a rainbow down to earth. He hears his little sister’s laughter a split second before a handful of powder paint hits him right between the shoulder blades with a muted thud. He’s too busy running to notice you; you’re just a face in a hundred, covered from head to toe in colour like everyone else. A smudge of red on your cheek, hair matted with purple, green splattered across your left thigh.
