Day Forty-Five – “Shark Tank” (In For A Penny / Dreamers)

Sometimes he’s drowning, sometimes he’s hanging from a cliff, sometimes he’s burning at the stake. The details always change, but the centre of the dream stays the same: there’s always a crowd watching him, and nobody ever comes to help. You’re in the crowd today, right on the front line, baying and laughing with the rest of them as he bangs his fists on the thick glass of a shark tank. The salt water burns its way down his throat and into his lungs as two grey shapes circle him, watching him with beady black eyes and biding their time.
