Slightly darker one today, given Halloween is just around the corner.
Three bullets left.
The horde closed in around her – as they shuffled closer, she began to recognise some of them beneath the dirt and decay. She watched as they were sent reeling by each shot she fired.
Bang. A friend from work. Bang. The little boy from next door – it would have been his tenth birthday tomorrow.
One bullet left, and there were far too many of them. She backed up against the wall, closing her eyes against the glassy stares of the shambling, groaning crowd.
She turned the gun upwards, felt the cold metal against her chin, and fired.
