She was almost skeletally thin, with sharp protruding cheekbones and sunken eyes staring out from beneath a shock of white hair that sprouted out like wild grass. She shouted at everyone, even the other teachers, but it was when she went quiet that you knew you were really in trouble.
The day she found Lucy’s notebook, she didn’t even say one word. We’d never been more terrified of her.
